it's a battle, win or lose. ☈ ᴄʟᴏsᴇᴅ
[This is bullshit. Everything about this is bullshit, but of course, Akira’s told himself that maybe fifteen times today and it’s changed exactly nothing. He’s stuck here, with his Pokémon taken away (probably never to be seen in the real world again — most of them won’t even know what became of him before being locked in their Pokéballs), in a literal fucking prison somewhere off Route 34 in Johto. For absolutely no good reason.]
[He tries to do his part, be a responsible citizen, drive out the mob that was slowly taking over the city… and for all his and his Pokémon’s efforts, what does he get? Incarceration. Because that little shithead detective needed to have someone put behind bars who looked like they could credibly be working for the Rockets. And come on, a secret spy who was ostensibly with the rebellion while tearing them apart from the inside and feeding that information back to the admins? It was a perfect, compelling narrative.]
[Pity it wasn’t true, but that’s never stopped anyone before, and it certainly wasn’t going to stop anyone now.]
[Akira can’t do much but sit in his cell and seethe. He has no idea what’s going on in the outside world past what he’s able to glean from their limited access to newspapers, and of course, hearsay from the other inmates — most of whom are Rockets themselves. Akira’s been doing his damnedest to stay calm but detached, which has been… difficult, but he certainly doesn’t want to start being chummy with literal members of the mob.]
[Fuck. Fuck. Is this what he deserves for trying to do the right goddamn thing? Fuck!]
